The role

This role would appeal to an experienced Learning Support Teacher who is primary trained, secondary trained, or has experience working across both contexts. Reporting to the Head of Learning Support (K–12), the successful candidate will join a collaborative and expanding Learning Support team that is committed to ensuring every student is known, supported and able to thrive.

The Learning Support Teacher provides support to students, staff and families with a diverse range of learning and developmental needs. Depending on their experience and interests, the successful candidate may be assigned responsibility for specific year levels, coordinating support and tailored interventions for students within those cohorts.

Working in partnership with classroom teachers, the Learning Support Teacher develops a deep understanding of each student’s strengths, needs and aspirations. The role involves close collaboration with parents and carers to build shared understanding, develop and review education plans, maintain effective communication between home and school, and identify appropriate strategies, adjustments and interventions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of diverse learning needs, education plans and relevant funding frameworks. They will be skilled in supporting teachers to implement effective adjustments, fostering positive partnerships with families, and contributing to an inclusive learning environment where every student can experience success.

About you

Able to commence for the start of the 2027 academic year, the person suited to this role demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the College’s values while fostering a positive, inclusive culture that recognises and supports diverse learning needs. They are highly collaborative, working effectively with staff, students, families and external professionals to design, implement and review tailored learning plans and interventions.

With deep knowledge of teaching and learning practices, they identify and support students requiring additional assistance, identify targeted programs, and guide teachers in making appropriate curriculum and environmental adjustments. They communicate with empathy and professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and contribute actively to staff development and whole-school practices. Well organised and proactive, they manage documentation, meet deadlines, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, all while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for every learner.

You would demonstrate:

• success in working with and supporting students with alternative learning needs and their families.
• an understanding of the processes involved in developing and monitoring documented plans.
• evidence of collaborative practices and an ability to maintain deadlines.
• familiarity with current curriculum, pedagogical and legislative developments associated with Learning Support.
• a commitment to improving academic and wellbeing outcomes for students.

• that you hold appropriate tertiary qualifications.
• that you have, or can gain, current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
• your current clearance to work with young people via your Working with Children card.

About All Saints’ College and The Studio School

All Saints’ College (ASC), one of Australia’s leading independent, coeducational Anglican day-schools, has two campuses. Our main campus is situated approximately 15 minutes south of the Perth CBD on a beautifully landscaped 20-hectare property in Bull Creek. Surrounded by ovals, lawns and gardens, the campus caters for approximately 1,350 students from Pre-Kindergarten through to Year 12.

Facilities include a state-of-the-art theatre, heated 25 metre indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium, rock-climbing wall and an indoor sports centre. At ASC we understand that balancing work and family commitments can sometimes be challenging, and so we have implemented a number of strategies to support our staff as they manage their work/life balance. Staff with school-aged children are offered free before- and after-school care, and vacation care is provided during periods of school holidays, also free of charge, for the children of staff members who are required to work at these times. We also understand that members of our staff may need to attend to matters of a private nature from time to time, so our ‘Temporary Absence Policy’ enables staff to be absent from the workplace for up to two hours during the working day (without any deductions from leave accruals) to attend to such matters.
