ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned Instructs participants on the fundamentals of ice skating and hockey in a safe, friendly and professional manner. Based on experience, instructors may teach any one in any one of the following tracts: Beginning level skating Beginning level hockey Recreational skating Intermediate level hockey Figure skating lessons Adult skate lessons Communicates with participants at all times, providing regular feedback on participant performance.

Tracks progress and completes participant report cards. Maintains open communication lines with Skating and Hockey Programmer & Director regarding participant progress Assist with any special events taking place within the Ice Facilities (i.e. public skate lessons, set-up/tear down based on event needs) Assists as needed at registration table prior to the beginning of each lesson. Utilize the Rockford Park District's HRIS system for all HR and payroll-related requirements and to accurately clock in and out for all shifts.

Follows all facility and operational safety precautions. Attends all regularly scheduled staff meetings Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements Education/Experience Some experience on Ice preferred Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Must be comfortable on and around the ice when in skates.

Must be able to commit 10-20 hours per week (varies based on season). Schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must enjoy working with children and adults.

Must have good communication skills in order to interact with participants and co-workers. Ability to problem solve in a variety of situations.
