🚀 Lead Integrations Engineer | Fintech | Remote (Portugal)

We've partnered with an ambitious, African-born AI-first fintech that's building a product that's focused on truly innovating the way payments are made across Africa. They're looking for a Founding Lead Integrations Engineer to own one of the most business-critical areas of the platform.

You'll be setting up and leading the APIs & Automations squad and defining their external API surface from scratch: the developer experience, the plugin ecosystem, MCP servers, agentic payments solutions and the AI-agent automation engine of the whole company.

What you'll bring:

• You have built and operated public or partner APIs at scale, with the scars from versioning and breaking changes.
• Strong on integration patterns: webhooks, event distribution, failure handling, idempotency.
• Automation builder: you have removed real organizational toil end to end, increasingly with AI agents.
• Technical squad leadership, not just IC work. 70% of your time will be spent on development and client interactions.
• AI bar: you have used AI tools seriously for over a year, and you have built AI agents or automations that removed real manual work from your own job.
