Job Description
Junior Charge Nurse Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (minimum 24 hours per week) Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, part of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation Trust. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality care for the entire spectrum of HRG level 5‑1 neonatal service specification and safely discharge patients to community services. Support the operational workforce and maintain close working relationships with partners across the Birmingham Local Maternity Service. Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork with the Neonatal Outreach Team, Maternity Services and the Regional Fetal Medicine Centre. Work the full range of clinical shifts across the 24‑hour period, demonstrating adaptability, flexibility and resilience. Qualifications Current experience working in a neonatal intensive care environment. Experience managing a spectrum of neonatal conditions spanning surgical, medical and congenital abnormalities.
