Job Description Job Description Description Your role at GEI. Terrane Geoscience Inc. is a geoscience and engineering consulting firm with offices in Fredericton, NB, Halifax, NS, and Kelowna, BC. Terrane’s personnel are experts in structural geology, rock mechanics engineering, geostructural engineering and geospatial data collection and analysis.

We are seeking a “Junior Geological, Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer” to join our team of engineers and geologists working on mining, infrastructure, and rock engineering projects. Essential Responsibilities & Duties Provide technical support on a wide variety of geotechnical and geological projects, responsibilities may include assisting with: Soil logging Rock core logging (rock mass classification) Downhole surveys (televiewer, gamma, etc.) Hydrogeological testing (i.e. packer testing) Point load testing Laboratory testing (sieve, hydrometer, atterberg) Field inspections (i.e. rock / soil anchor testing) Data analysis Technical reporting Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in geological engineering. Registered as an E.I.T (engineer in training) 1-5 years of experience, working as an engineer.

Ability to travel locally, internationally, and to remote locations for extended periods of time, generally 2-4 weeks Ability to work in adverse field conditions (rain, snow, insects etc..) and perform physical tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. A positive attitude, a team player, respectful and able to meet deadlines as required Mechanically inclined and ability to trouble-shoot field equipment Be receptive to feedback and collaboration with peers and clients Canadian work permit or citizenship Valid driver’s license Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
