Junior Fund Accountant

A well-established asset manager is hiring a graduate into its Fund Accounting function where you'll be responsible for day-to-day ownership of NAV production, valuation reconciliation and fund reporting across a range of credit strategies.

You'll be embedded in the fund accounting team from the start, working directly with portfolio managers and external administrators, and given proper training in how buy-side valuation and pricing actually work. Please note: due to the junior level of this role, my client is unable to offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must already hold the right to work in the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinating NAV production across daily, weekly and monthly cycles, reconciling the firm's valuations against third-party administrators.
• Investigating and resolving pricing discrepancies, cash breaks, trade capture issues and ad-hoc administrator queries.
• Obtaining daily sign-off on portfolio valuations and returns from the PM team.
• Supporting accurate and timely calculation of management fees.
• Assisting with periodic regulatory reporting submissions and fund expense processing.
• Helping prepare monthly/quarterly client reporting packs.
• Liaising with external auditors during peak reporting periods.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a numerate subject.
• Some exposure to financial services through an internship, placement year or relevant part-time work (but if you don't have that, genuine curiosity about how funds work and why control functions matter is essential).
• Strong attention to detail and a real interest in accuracy, process and problem-solving.
• Good communication skills; you'll be working with PMs, administrators and auditors, so you need to be comfortable picking up the phone and asking questions.
• Someone who wants to build a career in fund accounting or investment operations, with an eye on ACCA or CIMA down the line.
