Interim Financial Controller

Hays Accountancy & Finance are working with our client, a successful and growing organisation, to recruit an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller. This is a key leadership appointment to support an evolving finance team during a period of transition. Your new role

• Leading and managing the year-end audit process for multiple group entities.
• Acting as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring all audit requirements are delivered efficiently.
• Supporting, mentoring and developing a senior finance team member as they transition into increased leadership responsibilities.
• Overseeing monthly management accounts, financial reporting and balance sheet controls.
• Reviewing, enhancing and embedding robust financial controls, governance frameworks and reporting processes.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow activities as required.
• Providing financial insight and commercial support to senior stakeholders.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Leading and developing the wider finance team while promoting a collaborative and positive culture.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or senior finance leader.
• Strong track record of managing external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience improving financial controls, systems and operational processes.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop finance professionals.
