Job Title Instructor Guard
Wage Instructor Guard: $31.23 - $33.78 per hour (2026)
Reports to Aquatics Coordinator
Department Community Services
Location Lindsay Recreation Complex and/or Forbert Memorial Pool (Bobcaygeon)
Hours Full-Time, including days, evenings, and weekends
Other Some travel throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes may be necessary in accordance with job requirements.

Job Description
- Assist in ensuring that the facility is properly maintained
- Keep records of every aspect of the pool’s operation and maintenance
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility
- Perform other related duties as assigned .
Lifeguard
- Perform all of the duties as above including lifesaving activities; act immediately and appropriately for the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
Instructor Guard
- Perform all of the duties above including teaching quality swimming programs and providing excellent customer service.
Skills/Education Required
- Current National Lifesaving Service Certification
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR qualifications
- Current Red Cross Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor Qualification (Instructor Guards)
- This position requires that the successful applicant is a minimum of 16 years of age in accordance with the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Regulation 565 for Public Pools.
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, will be required
- Applicants must also be prepared for skill testing.
