Instructional Designer, School of Medicine

Job DescriptionSpecific Purpose Whole Time Post (duration to April 2027) UCC wishes to appoint an Instructional Designer to School of Medicine. Reporting to the Manager, School of Medicine, the Instructional Designer based in the School of Medicine University College Cork will work with academic, clinical and support staff to provide instructional and technology expertise for the development of on-line learning material in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as continuing professional development modules and activities within the School of Medicine. The postholder will be expected to take a lead in managing and implementing the School's digital learning strategy and provide pedagogical support in this regard.

The postholder will be committed to developing, leading and implementing the strategic development and direction of policy and practice in Teaching and Learning with technologies. The Instructional Designer will also contribute to a team tasked with the development of a suite of online programmes within a defined-time period, and assistance with the delivery of these programmes. Working under the direction of the Manager, School of Medicine, the appointee will be part of the Medical School team (located in Brookfield Health Sciences Complex with some departments located in the Western Gateway Building as well as in the School's partner hospitals in the South/South West Hospital Group including, for example, Cork University Hospital, University Hospital Waterford, University Hospital Kerry and South Tipperary University Hospital.

Appointment may be made on the Admin V Salary Scale: €52,338 - €64,190 (Scale B) / €50,066 - €61,097 (Scale A). Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
