Infrastructure Engineer

About the role: This is a hybrid Infrastructure Engineer role combining BAU support with project-driven improvement work.

You’ll help maintain a stable, secure environment while contributing to ongoing modernisation across virtualised and cloud platforms. You’ll play a key role in keeping critical systems running smoothly while also helping drive meaningful improvements across the infrastructure estate. This is a hands-on role where no two days look the same, from solving real-time challenges to delivering enhancements that push the environment forward.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across both on-prem and cloud technologies, contributing to a modern, evolving platform while sharpening your skills along the way. Your responsibilities: Support day-to-day infrastructure operations, ensuring performance, stability, and security Deliver improvement initiatives to enhance and modernise the environment Manage on-prem server infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management Administer and optimise VMware environments Oversee backup and recovery processes, including testing and restores Support and enhance cloud environments across Azure and AWS Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency across infrastructure processes What we are looking for: A well-rounded infrastructure background with strong hands-on experience Solid knowledge of VMware, server environments, storage, and backup solutions Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and solve problems end-to-end A passion for continuous learning and improving how things are done Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team An interest in automation and streamlining operations through modern tooling Details: Salary £50,000 + bonus Work arrangement: Hybrid - 1 day per week on-site If this sounds like you, apply below!
