Job Title: Information Management Analyst Job Requisition ID: 83845 Ministry: Technology and Innovation Location: Edmonton Full or Part-Time: Full-Time Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Permanent/Temporary: Permanent Scope: Open Competition Closing Date: June 16, 2026 Classification: Administration 1 Salary: $2,316.22 to $3,015.06 bi‑weekly ($60,453 – $78,963 per year) Technology and Innovation is responsible for making innovation and technology the driving force behind Alberta’s economic growth and diversification. The Data & Content Management (DCM) division is accountable for the Government of Alberta Data Strategy, enterprise‑wide content management advice and services including data, information and records services, and the government’s internal AI program including robotic process automation. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a branch within the DCM Division that supports Alberta’s economic growth and diversification through innovation and technology.
Role Responsibilities The ECM branch is looking for an Information Management Analyst. Reporting to the Team Lead, File Management and System Support Senior Lead, Project Services, the IM Analyst works closely with a variety of clients and stakeholders to develop strategies and processes, troubleshoot and mitigate risks, and enhance file management services and compliance while leading the transition from paper records to electronic information management. The IM Analyst ensures delivery of quality information management services and products by providing strategic support, guidance and expertise to enhance the strategic value of department records and information while minimizing risks and improving practices.
The role involves designing, planning, and implementing ECM solutions, performing comprehensive work process analysis to understand retention and record compliance requirements, and drafting policies, procedures and guidelines. In addition, the IM Analyst provides consultation and coaching support to department staff and contractors, including training, implementation and enhancement of Information Management and ECM solutions, digitization of products and services, and records disposition instructions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
Qualifications & Competencies 1‑year post‑secondary certificate in a related field (e.g., Information and Records Management) and two (2) years of progressively related experience. Experience with records retention and disposition schedules, records databases, and Microsoft Office software programs, including project management. Must be able to lift boxes weighing approximately 30 lbs.
A related two‑year diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience; or A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in lieu of formal education. Assets Experience with work process analysis. CAPM – Certified Associate in Project Management.
