Job Description: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Position Type: Direct Hire Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend (EOW) required. Pay Rate: *58/hour (commensurate with experience and skills). Facility: Medical Center Address: Andover, KS Shift Differentials: Night Differential: */hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).

Weekend Differential: */hour (from 11:00 PM Friday through 11:30 PM Sunday). Holiday Differential: 50% of the base rate for six major holidays. Note: Differentials can stack.

A sign-on bonus will also be discussed with the facility. Education and Training Requirements: Required: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Nursing diploma (completed during or before the 1980s) is accepted in lieu of a degree.

Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Licensure and Certifications: Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be obtained within six months of hire). Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within six months of hire if not already certified). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification issued by the Emergency Nurses Association (must be obtained within six months of hire).

Experience: A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required. Position Summary: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to critically ill patients. This includes conducting assessments, providing direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, educating patients and families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Care delivery aligns with patient and family needs while adhering to professional and regulatory standards. Essential Responsibilities: Patient Care & Assessment: Conduct systematic and ongoing assessments, including diagnostic test results, patient responses, developmental needs, cultural considerations, and education needs. Identify and report changes in patient condition promptly.

Provide patient-focused care while adhering to established nursing standards. Ensure delegated care aligns with treatment plans and nursing practice guidelines. Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with the care team to address patient needs.

Utilize critical thinking to evaluate and improve patient outcomes. Educate patients and families on managing illness and recovery. Communicate progress towards expected outcomes and document care per hospital policies.

Professional Development & Ethical Practice: Participate in educational activities to advance clinical skills. Stay informed about age-specific, culturally appropriate, and diagnosis-specific knowledge for patient populations served. Advocate for patient rights and support family involvement in decision-making.

Promote an ethical and safe environment for patients, families, and staff. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to OSHA standards and protocols to ensure safety against bloodborne pathogens. Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information at all times.

Follow hospital policies regarding employee health and staffing. Other Responsibilities: Maintain composure during high-stress situations and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Actively participate in quality assurance (QA) and performance improvement (PI) activities.

Notify management of relevant situations affecting care or operations. Key Attributes: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
