Job Description
MCJ Appointments is seeking an organised and customer-focused ICT Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support within the Information and Communications Technology unit of a large local government organisation.
This part-time position is ideal for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a technology environment. You will support purchasing, financial administration, records management, ICT assets and internal customer enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise purchase requisitions and orders and reconcile supplier invoices.
- Assist with ICT budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, briefing notes and meeting minutes.
- Register and maintain ICT documentation using Council’s records management systems.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, databases and administrative records.
- Assist the service desk and wider ICT team with telephone and walk-in enquiries.
- Support the procurement and contract management of ICT products and services.
- Assist with hardware and software asset maintenance and management.
- Coordinate information and document ICT procedures and risk controls.
- Review administrative processes and user trends to identify improvements.
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders.

About You
To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A qualification in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive office administration or ICT coordination experience.
- Competency using Windows, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Cloud and email systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational ability.
- Strong customer service and complaint-handling skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- A current C Class driver’s licence.
Highly Desirable
- Previous public-sector or local government experience.
- Experience working within an ICT or technology environment.
- Exposure to ICT procurement, contracts, budgets or asset management.
- Experience with electronic document and records management systems.
- ITIL certification.
