Must Have Skills:

• Build new instances of IBM MQ, Manage, configure, and monitor MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues
• Setup of IBM Websphere MQ in a cluster environment for both load balancing and Failover
• Assess current-state MQ environments, including queue managers, channels, queues, security configurations, and dependencies.
• Analyze compatibility impacts, deprecated features, and new capabilities in the target MQ version/platform.
• Detailed knowledge of IBM MQ and IBM Websphere Message Broker 8 or IIB
• Able to setup security for WebSphere MQ queues & other objects for data access and for administration using role-based security.
• Proficient in SSL Configuration on WebSphere MQ.
• Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ/MB

Responsibilities:

• Modify/re-design configuration/applications to resolve identified issues.
• IBM Websphere MQ best practices for setup/monitoring as well as usage
• Modify/re-design configuration/applications to resolve identified issues.
• IBM Websphere MQ best practices for setup/monitoring as well as usage
• Provide impact analysis of newer versions and provide upgrade paths and plan and upgrade servers with the appropriate versions and patches of IBM Websphere MQ
• Experience in the IBM PMR problem determination and troubleshooting process
• Experience within product & Fixpack installations and version upgrades of WebSphere MQ
• Should be strong in using MQSC and PCF commands
• Should be strong in MQ channel configuration using different transmission protocols
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, system and performance tuning skill
