Job Description
Tribe Rural Services is seeking an experienced, reliable and physically capable HR Truck Driver to join its transport and delivery operation servicing Melbourne and North East Victoria.
This is a hands-on driving position involving a combination of Melbourne runs and local deliveries throughout the Albury-Wodonga and North East Victorian region.
The role involves much more than simply driving. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading, transporting and unloading a diverse range of products, completing multiple deliveries and collections, and professionally representing Tribe Rural Services when dealing directly with customers.
Freight may include winery products, steel and building materials, agricultural products and other general commercial goods.
Typical Working Week
Monday, Wednesday and Friday โ Melbourne Runs
Melbourne run days will generally commence at approximately 4.00am and may involve approximately 14 hours of paid work, subject to operational requirements and regulated driving/work-hour requirements.
These days will involve travelling between North East Victoria and Melbourne, completing scheduled pickups and deliveries at multiple customer locations.
Tuesday and Thursday โ Local Deliveries
Local delivery days will generally commence at approximately 6.00am and involve approximately 10 hours of paid work.
Deliveries will be throughout North East Victoria and surrounding areas including Albury, Wodonga, Beechworth, Wangaratta and other regional locations.
Saturday โ Optional Additional Work
Saturday work is available for employees wanting additional hours and will generally operate from approximately 6.00am to 12.00 noon, depending on workload.
Applicable overtime and penalty arrangements will apply.
Key Responsibilities
The HR Truck Driver will be responsible for:
- Safely operating an HR vehicle in accordance with road transport and company requirements
- Completing scheduled metropolitan and regional pickups and deliveries
- Loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently
- Assisting with the movement and handling of stock at customer and depot locations
- Checking loads and ensuring freight is appropriately secured
- Completing delivery documentation and obtaining required customer acknowledgements
- Liaising professionally with customers during pickups and deliveries
- Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and within required timeframes
- Conducting vehicle checks and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintaining a clean, safe and presentable vehicle
- Following all workplace health and safety, fatigue management and transport requirements
- Representing Tribe Rural Services professionally at all times
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Current HR Driver Licence
- Demonstrated experience driving heavy vehicles
- Good driving record and strong commitment to road safety
- Physically fit and capable of regularly getting in and out of the truck and assisting with loading and unloading
- Comfortable handling and moving a variety of freight
- Reliable and punctual, including being comfortable with early morning starts
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a delivery schedule
- Strong understanding of safe load restraint and manual handling practices
Highly Regarded:
- Current Forklift Licence
- Previous multi-drop or regional delivery experience
- Experience transporting steel, building materials, agricultural products, winery products or similar freight
- Knowledge of Melbourne and the North East Victorian/Albury-Wodonga region

Remuneration
The position offers:
$40.00 per hour + superannuation
All scheduled breaks are paid.
Applicable overtime and penalty rates will be paid in accordance with the relevant industrial arrangements.
Saturday work is available for employees seeking additional hours and earnings.
