Clearway Disposals require a Health and Safety Officer to join our team!

Location: Belfast

Salary: £35,000.00 + discretionary Christmas bonus

Working pattern: 8am 5pm Mon Friday (40 hours)

Holidays: 20 + 9 statutory days

Duties:

  • The Health & Safety Officer will report to the Group HR and will assist in the management of health and safety across all group sites.
  • You will undertake risk assessments, safe systems of work, and assist with health and safety site audits across the group company sites.
  • Provide health and safety assistance on sites in support of Clearway operational teams, ensuring working practices on sites are safe and comply with legislation.
  • The Health & Safety Officer will support the business in maintaining ISO9001 & ISO14001.
  • You will assist with accident investigations, near miss reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • The Health & Safety Officer will assist with emergency procedures, such as; fire drills, fire inspections, spill management and first aid arrangements.
  • Assist with sourcing, purchasing, storage, and distribution of PPE items across all Clearway group company locations.
  • Help to design, develop, and maintain in-house training databases to ensure it works for the companies present and future needs.
  • Keep up to date with new Health and Safety legislation.
  • Further to the above, the Health & Safety Officer will complete relevant H&S admin tasks for the department as required.

Desired criteria:

  • NEBOSH health and safety qualified
  • Knowledge in ISO
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full driving license.
  • 18 / 24 months experience within an H&S or facilities management background would be advantageous.
