We are looking for aHealth & Safety Advisorwho is passionate about creating safer workplaces and enjoys working alongside leaders and teams to turn good safety practices into everyday habits.

In this role, you will be a trusted Health & Safety partner across our Australian operations, providing practical advice, strengthening our safety systems and helping leaders and teams build a proactive safety culture where everyone takes ownership of safety.

This is more than a compliance role. You will spend time where the work happens – partnering with leaders and employees, understanding how work is performed, solving practical safety challenges and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the way we work.

If you enjoy combining technical Health & Safety expertise with coaching, problem-solving and genuine partnership, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact on the safety and experience of our people.

Responsibilities:

Be a trusted Health & Safety partner

You will work closely with leaders and employees to make Health & Safety practical, accessible and part of everyday decision-making.

You will:

  • Provide timely and practical Health & Safety advice to leaders, employees and key stakeholders.
  • Interpret WHS legislation, standards and internal requirements and translate them into practical workplace solutions.
  • Coach leaders to understand and confidently fulfil their Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Build strong relationships across manufacturing, operational and corporate teams.
  • Support effective consultation and engagement with employees, Health & Safety Representatives and Health & Safety Committees.
  • Lead and embed a proactive safety culture by partnering with leaders and teams to strengthen safety ownership, accountability and everyday safe behaviours.
  • Foster an environment where employees feel confident to speak up about safety, proactively identify and report risks, and contribute ideas that improve workplace safety.

Strengthen risk management & prevention

A key focus of the role is helping us identify risks early and prevent incidents before they occur.

You will:

  • Facilitate and support workplace risk assessments, hazard identification and implementation of effective controls.
  • Partner with teams to review existing controls and identify opportunities to strengthen them.
  • Maintain and support effective management of Health & Safety risk registers.
  • Analyse hazards, incidents, near misses and safety observations to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Translate insights into practical preventative actions and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide Health & Safety input into workplace changes, new equipment, processes and projects.

When incidents occur, you will help the organisation learn from them and prevent recurrence.

You will:

  • Support the timely reporting, assessment and investigation of workplace incidents and near misses.
  • Facilitate effective incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with leaders to develop practical corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor actions through to completion and evaluate whether controls have been effective.
  • Identify recurring themes and use insights to shape broader Health & Safety improvement priorities.
  • Support the development and delivery of Health & Safety improvement plans, initiatives and projects.

Build Health & Safety capability

Great safety outcomes come from capable and confident leaders and teams.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Health & Safety training, education and awareness programs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to leaders and employees on safe work practices and risk management.
  • Support Health & Safety inductions and other required safety training.
  • Identify capability gaps and recommend practical ways to strengthen safety knowledge and behaviours.
  • Develop clear and engaging Health & Safety communications, tools and resources.
  • Support safety campaigns and initiatives that encourage active employee participation.

Strengthen our Health & Safety systems

You will help ensure our Health & Safety systems remain effective, contemporary and easy for our people to use.

You will:

  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
