SISCOG

Job Description

For 40 years, SISCOG has built rail-native optimisation software that integrates planning and day-of-operation, delivering measurable efficiency where generic planning systems fail. Our suite - ONTIME, FLEET, CREWS and RAILNODE - supports timetable, vehicle, crew and dispatching decisions for rail, metro, tram and light rail operators worldwide, with typical client results including faster ROI, meaningful cost savings, revenue growth and significantly reduced planning times.

SISCOG is part of the Modaxo group (Volaris Group / Constellation Software), which gives us global backing while we operate with the focus and agility of a specialist. Our clients include major passenger and freight rail, metro and light-rail operators across Europe and beyond, and virtually all of our commercial activity is international in nature.

Our ambition is to deepen partnerships with existing clients while growing our base among organisations with complex planning needs, building on decades of rail-sector credibility in a growing global market.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Head of Sales & Marketing to own and execute SISCOG's go-to-market strategy end to end - from market approach and messaging through pipeline generation to closed deals - and to build the commercial engine that turns our strong product and rail expertise into predictable, profitable growth.

You’ll inherit a solid strategic foundation - a clear ideal customer profile, market prioritisation approach, buyer personas and a CRM system - and be responsible for turning it into disciplined execution and results, largely with clients based outside Portugal.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Commercial strategy & segmentation - refine market segmentation, lead qualification criteria, and country and account prioritisation; keep our value proposition and ideal customer profile sharp and applied consistently across the team.
  • Pipeline & revenue growth - build and manage a healthy international pipeline, including new client acquisition and expansion revenue within existing accounts.
  • Brand & positioning - own our positioning and messaging as a rail-native optimisation specialist, and strengthen our external visibility and commercial narrative in target markets.
  • Account-based marketing & buyer journey execution - run targeted account-based marketing and broader campaigns, and build out content, touchpoints and assets mapped to each stage of the buyer journey and to each buyer persona (e.g. executive, IT, operations, project management and planning/dispatching stakeholders).
  • Pricing & licensing - define and empower a clear, consistent pricing and licensing model across the company.
  • CRM & reporting discipline - own our CRM as the single source of truth for accounts and pipeline; report pipeline health and win/loss insight to the Management Council.
  • Cross-functional alignment - work closely with Client Success/Projects on upsell and satisfaction, with Product to align messaging and roadmap, and with Finance on pricing and margin.
  • Team leadership - build, coach and scale the Sales & Marketing department as SISCOG grows.

YOU ALREADY HAVE

  • At least 10 years of experience in sales and marketing of software solutions
  • Experience in software solutions applicable to the mobility sector is preferred; experience specifically in the rail sector will be especially valued
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams
  • Absolute availability to travel to visit clients and to attend group events abroad — our sales activity is 100% focused on international clients
  • Solid experience with international sales, comfortable operating across cultures, time zones and languages
  • A track record of building or scaling a go-to-market motion from strategy to execution — segmentation, account-based marketing, pipeline management, pricing
  • Comfort with long, formal sales cycles and public and private buyers, including tender/procurement processes
  • Hands-on CRM fluency and a data-driven approach to pipeline and KPI management
  • Experience operating within a multinational group structure is a strong plus
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to align sales, marketing, product and delivery
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages an advantage

WHAT WE OFFER

We back this role with a package designed for someone who lives on the road and whose success is directly tied to results — competitive by design, not by accident:

  • Compensation that rewards performance - a competitive fixed salary complemented by a meaningful annual company-performance bonus and a dedicated sales commission plan, so your earnings grow directly with the business you bring in and the accounts you grow.
  • Everything you need to be on the road - a company car, fuel/mobility card and toll pass, plus a company phone and laptop, reflecting the fact that this role lives with clients and at group events, not behind a desk.
  • Health and family coverage - comprehensive private health insurance extended to your household at no cost to you.
  • Investment in you - ongoing professional training and development to keep sharpening your craft.
  • Real time to recharge - generous additional days off beyond statutory leave, including extra vacation days, your birthday, and time off around Carnival, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
  • Flexibility that respects real life - flexible working hours and a flexible hybrid work model for the time you're not travelling.
  • A team that grows together - a referral reward for helping us bring great people into the company.

Taken together, it's a package built for a role that's demanding, international and results-driven — matching the ambition we're asking of you with the support to deliver it.

WHY SISCOG

You’ll join a company with genuine technical depth, decades of domain credibility, loyal long-term clients, and the backing of a global group - but with real room to build a modern, structured commercial function from a still-early stage. This is a build role for someone who wants ownership, not just execution of someone else's playbook.
