Head of Sales and Business Development About the Company Internationally renowned provider of sustainable energy solutions Industry Renewables & Environment Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Head of Sales and Business Development for the North America region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team and actively driving new contracts and projects across the region, from the Southern CA to the Northeast. This role involves setting and monitoring sales and business development targets, analyzing industry trends, and managing the full sales process, including the development of build-own-operate opportunities and interfacing with client leadership to advance sales.
The Head of Sales will also be expected to maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, collaborate with internal teams to ensure project success, and lead the negotiation of contracts. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a Master's or MBA, and at least 5 years of experience in industry-related business development, project development, applications engineering, or sales engineering, particularly within the municipal wastewater sector. Technical competencies should include a strong understanding of anaerobic digestion, biogas treatment, wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and municipal solid waste processing.
The role requires excellent negotiation, networking, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to adapt to new digital tools is essential, as is the ability to interface with decision-makers at various levels.
