As Head of Purchasing for AGFA HealthCare , you will play a pivotal strategic role in shaping the longterm direction of our global IT supplier ecosystem across the critical categories of Medical Applications, Middleware, and Operating Systems .

Your leadership will directly influence the evolution of AGFA HealthCare's Enterprise Imaging Platform by ensuring that our supplier partnerships, technology choices, and sourcing strategies continuously strengthen our competitive position and enable future innovation. You will act as a strategic advisor and decisionmaker, using qualitative and quantitative insights to identify highvalue procurement opportunities, steer supplier strategy, and drive superior cost performance, operational reliability, and technology enablement across the organization. This role spans both upstream and downstream activities-from market scanning and thoughtleader engagement to lifecycle governance and global supplier performance management-requiring strong crossfunctional alignment with Product Management, R&D, Finance, Customer Operations, and regional business leaders worldwide.

What You'll Do Define the Global Sourcing Strategy Define and execute a forwardlooking sourcing strategy , introducing innovative solutions, emerging technologies, new suppliers, and future product opportunities. Anticipate evolving business and technology needs to ensure AGFA's supplier ecosystem remains robust, futureproof, and aligned with corporate strategy. Shape EnterpriseWide Procurement Direction Represent procurement at the leadership team and procurement committees , influencing enterpriselevel procurement priorities and ensuring alignment with AGFA HealthCare's longterm vision.

Develop strategic positioning and thought leadership in collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry experts. Drive Supplier Governance Across the Product Lifecycle Lead all supplierrelated strategic decisions from early solution development through implementation and global maintenance. Guide technology and vendor selection to support AGFA's innovation roadmap and accelerate delivery of nextgeneration imaging solutions.

Transform Market Intelligence Into Strategy Perform advanced analysis of market dynamics, supplier economics, cost structures, and key trends to define longterm sourcing decisions. Build strategic category plans based on external intelligence and internal business priorities. Steer Supplier Selection & Compliance Scout and evaluate global IT suppliers based on functional and regulatory requirements.

Define RFP strategies, scoring methodologies, and selection frameworks to ensure objective, strategic decisionmaking. Negotiate and Govern Global Agreements Lead highimpact negotiations, shaping longterm contracts that drive performance, mitigate risk, and support business agility. Oversee worldwide contract governance to ensure operational excellence and alignment with AGFA standards.

Drive Enterprise Performance Outcomes Ensure global projects meet Quality, Delivery, Cost , and Service expectations. Report performance and strategic progress to stakeholders across the organization. What You'll Bring Minimum 5 years of international purchasing experience in ITcritical industries such as healthcare, medical technology, software, banking, or telecom.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Science , or equivalent experience (e.g., hospital IT, software environments). Proven ability to lead complex software and IT procurement , including contract strategy and longterm vendor relationship management. Strong conceptual and analytical skills, able to translate complex business and market data into clear strategic recommendations.

Skilled negotiator with a deep understanding of the strategic implications of contracting decisions. Excellent project leadership capabilities, ensuring delivery to scope, timelines, budgets, and risk management standards. Strong interpersonal influence and the ability to develop crosscultural, global relationships and align diverse stakeholders.

Strong business sense, financial acumen, and exceptional communication skills. Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset. Location North America or Belgium.

About Purchasing HealthCare CoGS: Purchasing HealthCare CoGS (Cost of Goods Sold) is embedded within Corporate Affairs within AGFA HealthCare, and is responsible for the on-boarding and management of suppliers that are accounted for in the Cost of Goods Sold of the Enterprise Imaging Platform that AGFA HealthCare markets and deploys globally. Hence, the type of Purchasing is Direct Purchasing. The CoGS supplier landscape is comprised of a broad range of IT suppliers, covering Hardware, Software, Professional Services, Support Services, Hosting Services, Public Cloud, which constitute a full IT stack complementing and supporting the Enterprise Imaging Platform at the end customer.

In that respect, the type of agreements/relationships is in the realms of OEM, Reseller, Sales Agent. The Purchasing HealthCare CoGS team ensures that the IT suppliers are qualified and controlled in a manner that is aligned with the quality and business risk of the supplied products and/or services. The team's mission is to increase the value brought by suppliers to AGFA HealthCare, both for the current product range and for new solutions of products and services.

The performance and quality of AGFA offerings of products and services in general is a key contributor to revenue and profit enhancement. A significant portion of this performance and quality is linked to suppliers' performance and needs to be managed as upstream as possible. You will be leading a global team, based in the US and in Belgium, comprised of seasoned IT purchasing professionals who have the responsibility of making sure that the supplier landscape remains best-of-fit to the business needs.
