Head of Engineering Competitive Salary Barnsley Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a heavy engineering company near Barnsley to recruit a Head of Engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on developing a team of multi-skilled engineers, standardising design processes, driving performance, and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system. Key Responsibilities Provide strong leadership to a multi-disciplinary team Standardise and optimise design processes, ensuring alignment with BOM structures and the ERP system Rationalise current engineering practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality Lead cross-disciplinary design review meetings and drive lessons learned implementation Take hands-on ownership of design process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, and ISO standards Review and implement new technologies and design tools to maintain competitive advantage Deliver projects against deadlines within a fast-paced, bespoke engineering environment We are keen to speak with Engineering Managers / Head of Engineering with the following: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles Experience working with heavy, bespoke machinery or complex engineered products Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams Demonstrated experience delivering results against deadlines Hands-on leadership experience with the ability to grow and shape a team Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching engineers Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Apply now or for more information on this Head of Engineering role, please contact Ian Bruce
