Group Health and Safety Manager

Group Health and Safety Manager | India Location: India (Multiple Project Locations) Travel: National travel required across active project sites Sector: Digital Infrastructure | Mission Critical Construction | Large Scale Development Projects An industry leading owner and developer of mission critical infrastructure is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Risk leader to oversee safety performance across a rapidly expanding portfolio of major projects throughout India. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, preventing serious incidents, ensuring robust governance, and embedding world class safety standards across both construction and operational environments. Working closely with project teams, contractors, consultants and senior business leaders, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation's safety strategy during a period of significant growth.

Key Responsibilities Lead Health & Safety performance across a portfolio of large scale infrastructure projects. Drive the prevention of serious incidents through effective risk management and critical control verification. Develop and implement safety programmes, standards, procedures and assurance frameworks.

Serve as the senior Health & Safety advisor to project leadership teams and key stakeholders. Conduct audits, inspections and performance reviews to ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action programmes.

Monitor leading and lagging indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Produce regular performance reports and executive level safety dashboards. Support emergency preparedness, crisis management and business continuity planning.

Ensure safety requirements are embedded into operational procedures, contractor management processes and project delivery plans. Partner with construction, engineering, operations and procurement teams to influence safe project outcomes. Drive consistency of safety standards and expectations across all locations.

Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants and external stakeholders. Candidate Profile We are interested in speaking with experienced Health & Safety professionals who can demonstrate: 10+ years of progressive Health & Safety leadership experience. Multi site responsibility across complex, high hazard environments.

Strong experience within data centres, mission critical facilities, industrial construction, energy, infrastructure or similar sectors. Proven capability leading contractor safety and construction risk management programmes. Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing sustainable corrective actions.

Strong knowledge of risk management, assurance and audit processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to influence senior leaders and drive accountability across multiple teams.

Experience developing safety management systems, reporting frameworks and performance metrics. A visible, practical leadership style with a strong focus on prevention and continuous improvement. India based experience whislt possessing fluent Enlgihs language skills.

Qualifications Degree qualified in Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline. Relevant professional Health & Safety qualifications. Additional professional certifications highly advantageous.
