Your Role

As a Graduate Accountant, you will report to the Accountant, and have some dealings with the CFO.

  • Complete month-end reporting including balance sheet reconciliation journal and management reporting
  • Manage tax requirements including monthly PAYG, payroll tax and quarterly FBT and BAS
  • Examine operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
  • Introduce and maintain accounting systems, and advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
  • Maintain internal control systems
  • Assist payroll when required as backup for Payroll related duties as required
  • Complete other duties including daily bank and monthly credit card reconciliations, and assist with managing fixed asset register and prepare ad-hoc reports as required
  • Review accounts payable duties including daily creditor data entry, weekly and monthly creditor payments and supplier queries, etc
  • Assist accounts receivable when required as backup for including daily invoicing and client payment processing, client queries, debtor book collection and monthly statements, etc
  • Other general ad-hoc administration, reports and accounts duties

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in all the duties listed above
  • A relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 2-3 years local Australian experience
  • Working towards your CPA or CA qualification
  • A high level of attention to detail, especially with regards to data entry, and excellent time management with strong workflow management skills
  • A strong customer focus, displaying professionalism, honesty, integrity and willingness to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong computing skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, and previous experience with NetSuite
  • Payroll experience with Xero and NetSuite systems, and related tax matters
  • Good interpersonal skills including a high level of discretion and confidentiality
