Governance Analyst II – Role Overview The Governance Analyst II is a non‑exempt, full‑time position based in Washington, D.C. or Los Angeles/San Francisco offices, with offsite work options. Schedule: Thursdays – Mondays, 8 AM–5 PM (PST); DC schedule 9 AM–7 PM (EST). Salary Range (LA/DC): $49.09/HR – $60.10/HR ($102,107.20 – $125,008.00 annually).

Job Functions & Responsibilities Provide subject‑matter expertise in conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit letters. Conduct conflicts checks for new clients/matters, pitches, prospective attorneys, and professionals. Prepare and analyze conflicts reports to identify potential conflict issues.

Communicate potential conflicts issues and assist with resolution. Document and maintain matter lifecycle data in Intapp, 3E, and other systems. Complete new business intake forms and provide administrative support for the intake review process.

Draft, analyze, and review engagement letters; evaluate the need for ethical walls. Set up ethical walls in billing and document management systems; circulate ethical screening memoranda firmwide. Tools Intapp, 3E, Aderant, Legal Key for conflicts database.

Intapp, 3E, FileTrail, Varonis, Kiteworks for records, intake, and secure file transfer. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).

Minimum Job Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred, advanced degree a plus. 3+ years of law firm conflicts, governance, or records experience. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Ability to work proactively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, interacting professionally with others.

Physical Demands Writing, typing, reading, speaking, hearing, seeing, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs. Working Conditions Quiet office environment in a high‑rise building; seated the majority of the time.
