General Manager Nelson/Marlborough

MediaWorks is looking for an exceptional commercial leader to lead our Nelson/Marlborough business. As General Manager you’ll drive growth across one of New Zealand's most vibrant regional markets, leading a talented team, partnering with local businesses, and representing some of the country's most recognised media brands.

MediaWorks is New Zealand's largest audio company, connecting millions of Kiwis every week through some of the country's most-loved brands, including More FM, The Rock and our digital streaming platform, rova.

Based in Nelson, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of the region, leading revenue growth, developing your people, building strong customer relationships and ensuring operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach and inspire a high-performing content, sales and promotions team.
• Own the regional P&L and deliver strong commercial performance.
• Develop and execute strategies that grow revenue, market share and customer partnerships.
• Build lasting relationships with key clients, agencies, business leaders and community stakeholders.
• Foster a customer-first culture that consistently delivers exceptional client outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with Sales, Content, Promotions and Digital teams to maximise opportunities across the business.
• Represent MediaWorks as a respected and influential leader across the Nelson/Marlborough region.

What You'll Bring

• 6–8+ years' experience in senior leadership roles, leading successful sales teams.
• A strong track record of growing revenue and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
• Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• An inspiring leadership style that combines high performance with genuine care for people.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
• Strategic thinking balanced with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder management capability.
