The Popal Group is a growing, family-driven boutique hospitality group setting the standard for dining in Washington, D.C. through ambitious, concept-driven restaurants and a deeply rooted culture of hospitality. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager to lead Lutèce, our award-winning French neo-bistro located in the heart of historic Georgetown. Lutèce is known for its refined yet approachable take on modern French cuisine, with a focus on simplicity, seasonality, and thoughtful sourcing from regional producers.
This role requires a leader who operates with intention, humility, and precision—someone who can balance operational excellence with genuine hospitality, while developing a strong, values-driven team. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead all aspects of front-of-house operations, setting the tone for service, culture, and accountability Own the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management Foster a culture rooted in hospitality, professionalism, and continuous improvement Conduct regular team trainings and pre-shifts to reinforce standards, product knowledge, and service philosophy Provide consistent, constructive feedback through formal reviews and ongoing coaching Ensure all team members embody company values and uphold operational standards Service & Guest Experience Maintain an exceptional standard of service through active floor presence and real-time coaching Cultivate meaningful guest relationships and ensure a highly personalized dining experience Monitor service execution, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions proactively Respond to guest feedback with urgency, professionalism, and care Partner with the culinary team to ensure alignment between kitchen and dining room Financial & Operational Management Oversee scheduling and labor management to meet financial targets while maintaining service standards Monitor key performance metrics (labor, cost of goods, revenue, and guest satisfaction) and adjust operations accordingly Ensure accuracy and timeliness of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting Collaborate with ownership and the operations team on strategic planning and business initiatives Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements Operations & Systems Ensure seamless day-to-day operations across service, administration, and facility upkeep Uphold and refine standard operating procedures to drive consistency and efficiency Support marketing, events, and community engagement initiatives More detail about Lutèce. part of The Popal Group, please visit https://culinaryagents.com/entities/299903-Lut%25C3%25A8ce-
