Functional Business
Cork (3 Days per week required onsite)
Inital contract to end of this year with chance of long term extension.
We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst with a strong background in business and systems analysis, along with hands‑on experience supporting software testing and UAT.
The main focus of the role will be gathering and documenting requirements, assessing impacts across systems and applications, and translating business needs into clear functional and system requirements.

The main focus of the role will be gathering and documenting requirements, assessing impacts across systems and applications, and translating business needs into clear functional and system requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements, including BRD/BRA documentation.
- Translate business needs into functional and system requirements.
- Create User Stories and acceptance criteria within Agile environments.
- Produce functional documentation such as FRDs, SRS/SRA documents where required.
- Assess the impact of changes across multiple systems, applications and integrations.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects and QA teams to clarify and validate requirements.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood, documented and agreed before development.
- Support functional testing, SIT and UAT activities.
- Assist with test planning, test cases, defect clarification and validation where required.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience producing BRDs, functional specifications, User Stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of system and application dependencies and impact analysis.
- Experience working across complex application environments.
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Previous experience supporting functional testing, SIT or UAT.
- Agile and/or Waterfall delivery experience.
Desirable
- SQL and data analysis experience.
- Experience working with data models and system integrations.
