About the Company

Our client is a growing digital asset and fintech firm helping institutional clients integrate digital assets into their portfolios, offering solutions spanning spot trading, fixed income strategies and options. Founded in 2017, the business has navigated multiple market cycles and built a reputation as a trusted bridge between institutional and crypto ecosystems. It's a tightly-knit team where engineers are given genuine autonomy and a direct voice in how the business builds and scales its technology.

The Role

As a Software Engineer, you'll work across the design, architecture and build of enterprise systems that support trading, operations and risk functions. You'll have real ownership over tools, reports and feeds that directly serve the business, and you'll collaborate closely with heads of business lines and front office trading to implement and maintain critical systems. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants exposure to a broad technical remit and direct access to senior stakeholders, in a business that values substance over form.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, architect and build enterprise systems end to end
  • Build tools, reports and feeds that fulfil requirements from trading, operations and risk teams
  • Own software quality, efficiency, cost and operational resiliency
  • Participate actively in cross-company technology efforts to support wider business goals
  • Work closely with heads of business lines and front office trading on system implementation and maintenance
  • Contribute to testing strategy, including unit, integration and functional testing
  • Support CI/CD pipeline development and containerised, automated deployments

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical role (fresh graduates also welcome to apply)
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree from a recognised university in a related field
  • Experience working in a cloud environment
  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • Understanding of software architecture and design
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as AWS or another major cloud platform
  • Database design and management experience, ideally PostgreSQL

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • AWS certification
  • Extensive Java experience, ideally including Spring Boot
  • Experience with queue-based systems such as Kafka

Why Apply?

  • Circa £40,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience
  • On-site working in Belfast
  • High level of autonomy, with your voice heard by management
  • A culture that recognises substance over form and rewards performance
  • Genuine support for long-term development and growth
  • Flexible working arrangements where required
  • A casual, fun working environment
