Job Description
Director, Sales & Marketing
Location: 219 Dufferin St, Toronto, ON M6K 1Y9, Canada
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview
The Director of Sales & Marketing plays a Head Office role focused on building systems, processes, brand, and marketing infrastructure rather than managing a traditional salesforce. Approximately 20% of time is spent leading Isaac-wide initiatives, while 80% is spent as a fractional Director of Sales & Marketing to each sector, partnering directly with sector leaders to grow their business units. This is a hands‑on builder role that balances strategic vision with execution, and includes leading and growing the Head Office Sales & Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and champion a forward-looking marketing vision and translate it into actionable strategies and measurable results
- Strengthen Isaac's brand, positioning, and market visibility
- Own and continuously improve the sales playbook, BD process, and enablement tools
- Lead firmwide marketing initiatives: campaigns, thought leadership, content, and digital presence
- Improve pipeline reporting and CRM discipline to drive consistency
- Build, deliver, or facilitate impactful external sales training and capability programs for consultants and partners
- Act as a fractional Director of Sales & Marketing to sector leaders — a trusted partner helping them grow their businesses
- Support Leads in executing go‑to‑market strategy, pursuit planning, and client development efforts
- Customize sales and marketing best practices to fit sector‑specific needs
- Provide coaching, deal support, and insight to improve pipeline quality and conversion
- Act as a constructive challenger — surfacing blockers, spotting systemic gaps, and ensuring sectors stay accountable for growth
- Lead, coach, and develop the Head Office Sales & Marketing team
- Create a culture of growth, collaboration, and accountability
- Ensure the team delivers outcomes while supporting their career progression and engagement
- Act as a champion for team development, aligning goals with broader firm strategy
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or BD
- 8+ years of experience in professional services, ideally in a sales, marketing, sales enablement, or sales operations leadership capacity
- Experience collaborating with and enabling sellers, particularly those without a sales background
- Strong understanding of how consulting or services firms go to market, from brand building to relationship‑based sales
- Experience across the customer journey (brand campaigns, sales enablement, retention initiatives)
- Comfortable operating in a scale‑up environment where systems and processes are still evolving
Preferred Qualities
- Thrive in a Player‑Coach role, balancing team enablement with hands‑on execution
- Transformative mindset, comfortable building, iterating, and scaling in fast‑growth environments
- Balance consistency at enterprise level with flexibility at sector level
- Outcome‑focused with emphasis on team growth and happiness
- Doer at heart, energized by making things happen and getting into details
- Think beyond the immediate, envisioning long‑term outcomes and anticipating implications
- Scale‑up mindset: bias to action, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity
