Job Description We are seeking a Civil/Structural Forensic Engineer to join our Forensics team. This role offers an entrepreneurial, highly driven opportunity whose responsibilities extend beyond those of a traditional Civil/Structural Forensic Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of valuation, flexibility, and strategic thinking to tackle a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities Conduct field observations, inspections, data collection, interviews, and document assessment. Prepare forensic investigation reports detailing observations, tests, and results for residential and commercial losses. Review legal documents, pleadings, contracts, etc. to identify underlying issues and factual evidence.
Work with the forensic team and technicians to determine repair directives and develop repair drawings. Collaborate with senior engineers in document review, root‑cause analysis, and standard of care assessment for large construction projects. Conduct research and develop technical topics for publication and presentation.
Engage in client‑relations marketing and meet with peers and clients. Maintain high standards and ensure quality of deliverables. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications P.Eng license in good standing (required). 5–10 years of experience as an engineer (required). Experience conducting damage assessments and forensic investigations (plus). Experience in engineering design or construction (required).
Testimony experience as an engineering expert witness (plus). Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A desire to learn, excel, and grow within the profession. Physical and Mental Job Qualifications Ability to travel as needed, depending on project assignments.
