FOH Manager
Allez Café
Job Description
FOH Café Manager
Allez Café is seeking an experienced FOH Café Manager to lead our front-of-house team and oversee the day-to-day operation of our café.
We’re looking for someone who has spent meaningful time working in specialty coffee and understands what separates a great café from one that simply serves good coffee. This role requires a strong operator who can maintain high standards behind the bar while creating a welcoming, efficient, and professional environment for both guests and staff.
The ideal candidate has at least four years of specialty coffee experience, including experience in a leadership or management position. You should be comfortable working on bar, dialing in espresso, troubleshooting quality issues, training baristas, and managing a high-volume service.
Beyond coffee, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership of the entire FOH operation. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the café is properly staffed, stocked, clean, organized, and prepared for service every day.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily FOH café operations
- Maintain a consistently high standard of hospitality and service
- Dial in espresso and monitor coffee quality throughout service
- Train, coach, and develop baristas
- Maintain standards for espresso preparation, milk texture, workflow, and drink presentation
- Build and manage FOH schedules based on business needs
- Manage inventory and place orders for coffee, milk, beverages, and FOH supplies
- Monitor waste, product usage, and controllable costs
- Maintain opening, closing, cleaning, and operational procedures
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and communicate service or repair needs
- Lead busy services from the floor and step into any FOH position when necessary
- Address guest concerns professionally and thoughtfully
- Help hire, onboard, and evaluate FOH employees
- Communicate clearly with ownership, kitchen leadership, and the broader management team
- Identify operational problems and take initiative to improve systems and workflow
- Maintain a clean, organized, detail-oriented café environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of specialty coffee experience
- Previous café management, assistant management, or significant shift-lead experience
- Strong understanding of espresso extraction, grinder adjustment, milk steaming, and specialty coffee standards
- Experience training and developing baristas
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume café
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with scheduling, ordering, and inventory management
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking ownership of the operation
- Weekend availability is required
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who genuinely cares about coffee and hospitality but is equally interested in the operational side of running a successful café.
You notice when an espresso recipe has drifted, when the bar setup is slowing down service, when the pastry case needs attention, or when a newer barista needs additional coaching. You don’t wait for someone else to solve those problems.
This is a hands-on management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside the team, and setting the standard through their own work.
