Financial Reporting Accountant (6-month Temporary Contract)

Location: Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

The Opportunity

Looking for a high-impact contract role? We are seeking a senior Financial Reporting Accountant for a temporary position in Letterkenny. You will take full ownership of statutory reporting, lead technical compliance, and manage key audit engagements within a prominent public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of all statutory reporting, annual reports, and financial statements.
• Compliance & Policy: Act as the technical lead for the Accounting Policy Manual, ensuring strict adherence to FRS 102, Pension SORP, and public sector codes.
• Audit Management: Manage internal and external audit engagements
• Team Support: Assist the wider finance team with management accounts, forecasting, reconciliations, and strengthening internal controls.

What You Need To Have:

• Qualifications: Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with active professional membership is preferred.
• Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in financial accounting, plus internal/external audit management.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of FRS 102, Pension SORP, or public sector accounting (or the ability to adapt quickly).
• Skills: Exceptional communication and report-writing skills, with the credibility to influence stakeholders at a senior level.
• Execution: Highly organised, results-focused, and comfortable working to tight deadlines under pressure.
