Financial Reporting Accountant

EZO EV Charging

MaynoothFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

We are a fast-growing EV charging company on an exciting international growth journey. Having recently expanded into the UK, we are building out our finance function to support the next stage of our growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious early-career accountant to join a scaling business at an important point in its development. You’ll gain broad exposure across financial reporting, month-end, controls and commercial finance, while playing a key role in establishing robust reporting processes for our growing UK operation.

This role will be located in our HQ Office in Maynooth Co. Kildare.

The Role

As Reporting Accountant, you will support the production of accurate, timely and insightful financial information for the UK business. You’ll work closely with the wider finance team and colleagues across the business to ensure strong financial controls, reliable reporting and a smooth month-end process.

Because the UK operation is relatively new, this role will offer more ownership and variety than a traditional reporting position. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape processes, improve reporting and support the development of the UK finance function as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting for the UK business.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain key balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Support group reporting and consolidation processes.
  • Produce regular financial reports and analysis for senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial data and investigate discrepancies, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Help maintain a strong control environment and improve financial processes as the UK business develops.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Work with operational and commercial teams to understand the financial impact of business activity.
  • Contribute to finance projects, systems improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Help establish scalable reporting processes and procedures for the growing UK operation.

About You

We’re looking for someone at an early stage of their accounting career who is keen to broaden their experience and take on responsibility in a fast-paced, growing environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A recognised accounting qualification or be actively working towards one (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or financial reporting role.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to investigate issues and explain financial information clearly.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues outside of finance.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across the wider finance function.
  • Curiosity and an interest in improving how things are done.
