Financial Analyst
Marley Spoon
Job Description
At Marley Spoon, we’re on a mission to bring better cooking back to the table. Every week we deliver thousands of meals across Australia - and none of it would be possible without passionate people behind the scenes.
We’re looking for a Financial Analyst who loves getting into the detail of food costs and operations as much as building the models that explain them.
You won’t just crunch numbers - you'll help shape how Marley Spoon plans, prices, and grows every meal we send out the door, working closely with Culinary, Logistics and Sourcing to turn data into decisions.
The Opportunity
Bring approved AI tools and automation into your everyday workflow, so we spend less time compiling reports and more time on the analysis that matters.
Work with cross functional teams to spot trends, gaps and opportunities by comparing performance against plan and prior periods, and turn those insights into practical recommendations that improve cost efficiency.
Design and maintain financial models, sensitivity analysis and dashboards to keep stakeholders informed and decisions moving.
Help prepare the reports and presentations shared with our Global and Australian leadership teams each month and quarter.
Weekly and monthly contribution margin reporting, digging into variable cost buckets like food, packaging, production and logistics.
What we’re looking for:
You'll thrive in this role if you love getting into the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. You enjoy solving problems, working cross-functionally, and turning complex data into clear, practical recommendations - all with a positive, get-it-done attitude.
You’ll bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Culinary Arts, or a related field, plus 1-4 years of relevant experience (internships count).
Strong analytical skills and confidence working in financial reporting tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, Looker, Microsoft NAV or PowerBI.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence decisions.
The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A positive, go-getter attitude and a genuine drive for continuous improvement.
Bonus points if you have:
Exposure to Python or SQL
Experience in culinary operations or food industry analytics, with an understanding of cost structures and performance metrics.
What’s in it for you
At Marley Spoon, we believe work should fuel your growth, not drain it. Here’s what you can look forward to:
An extra 6 days of annual leave every year, on top of the standard entitlements.
Amazing team culture! From team lunches to celebrating milestones, we genuinely enjoy working together.
True hybrid flexibility with 2-3 days in office.
Delicious perks – Discounted Marley Spoon boxes delivered to your door.
A generous parental leave scheme, 12 weeks paid Parental Leave (including $7.5k childcare pay)
Corporate discounts on BUPA health insurance for you and your family.
Well-being matters – we offer 24/7 support through Sonder.
Growth on us – 5 paid training days each year, plus the chance to explore projects across different functions.
Enjoy a test kitchen in the office, where you get to sample our delicious latest recipes.
No red tape – We value autonomy, accountability, and getting things done without formal hurdles.
Global team, local spirit – Flat hierarchies, great energy, and 50+ nationalities working together.
