The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager/Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while contributing to financial reporting, compliance, analysis and process improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the monthly financial close process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reviews and financial analysis.
- Supporting monthly reporting, management accounts and cashflow forecasting.
- Maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting information.
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Supporting annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and business performance reporting.
- Supporting tax compliance activities, including VAT and other statutory returns.
- Contributing to finance process improvements and system enhancements.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- 1β3 yearsβ post-qualification experience in a financial accounting or similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, controls and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in manufacturing, life sciences, engineering, healthcare, technology or other multinational environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
