Our client is a large and highly regarded organisation operating within the Energy sector. Due to continued growth within its Finance Operations function, they are seeking to appoint an Accountant to join their Accounting & Reporting team based in Dublin.

This opportunity is ideal for a newly qualified accountant looking to build their career within a large organisation with a strong technical finance function.

  • Newly qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with up to 2 years' PQE.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; SAP/S4HANA experience would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Role and Reporting Lines

You will work as part of a centralised Finance Operations team with responsibilities including:

  • Deliver period-end close, consolidation and reconciliation activities across Group and Business Units.
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements together with interim and annual Group financial reports.
  • Coordinate the annual external audit process and work closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide practical technical accounting support and advice to Corporate teams and Business Units.
  • Monitor IFRS developments and assess their impact on financial reporting and the Group close process.
  • Develop strong working relationships with finance teams, business units and external auditors.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
