Job Description

An established and growing Irish business is seeking a Costing & Finance Administrator for a newly created role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator, Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Costing Administrator, Accounting Technician or Commercial Administrator who enjoys working with numbers and wants to develop experience in job costing, cost analysis and profitability reporting.

You will take ownership of tracking the costs and profitability of individual customer jobs, from the original estimate through to completion.
Permanent contract/Full-time onsite Kilbeggan

Key responsibilities include:

  • Set up job cost records covering materials, labour, subcontractors, delivery and installation
  • Track actual costs against estimates as jobs progress
  • Match supplier invoices, purchase orders and delivery documentation to individual jobs
  • Liaise with sales, production and operations to ensure all costs are captured
  • Identify and investigate significant cost variances
  • Produce job completion reports showing estimated versus actual costs and margins
  • Prepare weekly work-in-progress and monthly job profitability reports
  • Track material and subcontractor cost movements
  • Assist with invoice/PO reconciliation and ad hoc cost analysis

Ideal experience/Qualification:

We are looking for someone who is numerically strong, organised and exceptionally detail-focused.

  • Some previous experience in accounts, finance, costing, commercial or project administration
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets and formulas
  • Experience with invoices, purchase orders, reconciliations or cost records
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work across different teams
  • A formal accounting qualification is not essential. ATI, bookkeeping, finance or business qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering, installation, trades or another job/project-based business would be particularly relevant.
  • Experience with job costing, project costing, Sage or Xero is advantageous but not essential.
