Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Field Service Technician role located in New York, NY. The Field Service Technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and resolving service issues, and completing service reports and documentation accurately.
The role involves interacting directly with customers to explain work performed, provide recommendations, and ensure a safe and clean work area after each visit. The technician will follow safety protocols, coordinate with dispatch and supervisors on scheduling and parts needs, and support occasional emergency or after-hours service calls as required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and team members on-site.
- Solid organizational skills, including time management, attention to detail, and accurate completion of work orders and service documentation.
- Commitment to safety practices and compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Relevant technical training or certification in a field such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or building systems;
apprenticeship or equivalent experience is a plus. - Ability to work independently in the field, manage daily schedules, and adapt to changing priorities and environments.
- Valid driverβs license and reliable transportation to travel between customer sites in New York, NY and surrounding areas.
- Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
