CES/AWS is looking for an Engineering Facilities Manager for our Automotive Manufacturer Client. Location: Chicago, IL Salary : $120-130k + 12% bonus Shift: Day shift Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire position Industry: Automotive / Warehousing About the Role We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Engineering & Facilities Manager to lead all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations within our manufacturing site. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing processes, and maintaining infrastructure to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the Plant Operations leadership team. What You’ll Do Leadership & Strategy Provide direction for Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities teams Oversee all manufacturing equipment, tooling, and plant infrastructure Lead facilities operations including utilities, building systems, and grounds Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety-first culture across all operations Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety standards Drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and incident reduction Team & Department Management Manage staffing, budgets, performance metrics, and resource planning Conduct performance evaluations and develop team capabilities Foster collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement Maintenance & Operations Ensure execution of preventive maintenance and equipment readiness Maintain technical expertise across equipment and facility systems Oversee CMMS performance and maintenance planning Program Launch & Execution Lead cross-functional teams through launch readiness processes Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Program teams Ensure successful implementation of new programs and equipment Engineering Change & Development Oversee Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes Support product and process development for manufacturability and efficiency Drive improvements in cost, quality, and production performance Continuous Improvement Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability Implement best practices, new technologies, and process enhancements What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field 5+ years of management experience in automotive manufacturing Experience in Just-In-Time (JIT) assembly and sequencing operations preferred Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) Experience managing CMMS systems and maintenance operations Hands-on experience with automation (robotics, conveyors, fastening systems) Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and MS Office Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills If you are interested, please apply or send your resume to [email protected] CESDH
