Job Title: Eye Bank Technician

Location: Chennai / Permanent Role

Education: Any Graduate/Diploma

Experience: 0 – 5 Years.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To collect and transport blood samples and other specimens as required.
• To take donor tissues to the Cornea Emergency Unit and Operation Theatre.
• To coordinate with nursing staff and Operation Theatre personnel.
• To maintain and upkeep Eye Bank equipment, facilities, and work areas.
• To ensure proper handling and transportation of donor tissues and specimens.

Education: Any Graduate/BSW/ MSW

Experience: 0 – 5 Years

Skill: Good Communication, Counselling

Roles and responsibilities:

• To provide immediate support and counselling to the family members of the deceased and educate them about eye donation.
• To identify and explore opportunities to organize public health education and awareness programs on eye donation.
• To attend eye donation calls and coordinate with the team to facilitate timely retrieval of donor corneas.
• To send acknowledgement letters and appropriate correspondence to the family members of donors.
