Expert Linux Distribution Engineer at Ciena

Ciena is hiring an Expert Linux Distribution Engineer to enhance network operating systems. This senior role focuses on building scalable, reliable environments for software delivery. In this role, you'll utilize your extensive experience of over 10 years in Linux distribution engineering.

You'll drive improvements in build processes, including developing Bitbake recipes and integrating modern open-source tools. This position mandates diagnosing and resolving complex build issues while ensuring high-quality, secure builds. Key Responsibilities: • Own the evolution of SAOS 10.x build infrastructure • Develop Bitbake recipes to support large-scale software • Provide technical leadership in Yocto and build practices • Troubleshoot and diagnose CI/CD pipeline build issues • Implement efficient distributed build performance strategies Requirements: • 10+ years' experience in Linux distribution systems • Background in customizing Linux distributions • Programming skills in Go, Rust, C/C++, Python, or Bash • Experience with Meson or Ninja build systems • Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks like Tekton or Jenkins Leverage your build engineering expertise to contribute significantly to Ciena’s innovative networking technologies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
