The Inside Sales Representative supports Saberts food-packaging sales organization by developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, managing customer inquiries, preparing pricing quotations, and coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs. This role is designed for early-career professionals who are interested in developing a career in sales, account management, and the packaging industry. As part of Saberts Early Career Talent Development Program, the Inside Sales Representative receives hands-on learning and development while supporting new business development, customer account management, sales pipeline activity, and territory-growth initiatives. The successful candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, business acumen, customer focus, organization, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers through phone, email, and virtual meetings.
Support Outside Sales Representatives and Key Account Managers in managing customer accounts and responding to customer needs. Identify and qualify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, lead follow-up, and account-development activities. Prepare pricing quotations, sales proposals, customer presentations, and other sales support materials.
Process customer inquiries, sample requests, and order-related questions accurately and in a timely manner. Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Monitor customer activity, sales pipeline progress, account opportunities, and follow-up actions using CRM tools.
Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, activity reports, and opportunity information. Develop a strong understanding of Saberts packaging products, materials, manufacturing capabilities, and market applications. Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate products, solutions, or internal resources.
Assist with resolving customer concerns and escalate issues, as appropriate, to ensure timely resolution. Support territory-growth initiatives and contribute to revenue, account-development, and sales-performance targets. Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, sales training, and professional-development opportunities.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders. Customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain productive business relationships.
Foundational sales acumen and the ability to identify customer needs, assess opportunities, and propose appropriate solutions. Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple customer requests and priorities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing and commercial environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Ability to use CRM systems to track customer activity, sales opportunities, forecasts, and account information. Ability to learn and communicate product features, packaging materials, manufacturing capabilities, and market applications.
Strong attention to detail when preparing quotations, proposals, customer records, reports, and other sales documentation. Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable. Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Packaging Science, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
Experience: Zero to four years of professional experience in sales, customer service, account management, or a related customer-facing role. Internship, co-op, or professional experience in sales, customer service, account management, or another customer-facing environment preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot, preferred. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Microsoft Copilot or other AI platforms for productivity preferred. Experience in manufacturing, packaging, distribution, or industrial products including corrugated packaging, folding cartons, protective packaging, labels, or flexible packagingis preferred.
