GenU is looking for a creative and commercially minded Events Manager to lead fundraising events that bring people together, grow our brand and create sustainable revenue for greater community impact. From shaping strategy and partnerships to delivering standout experiences—including genU's City to Surf event—this is your opportunity to turn bold ideas into moments that matter.
What you’ll do
- Lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and review of genU's fundraising events, creating memorable experiences that are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Shape a forward-looking events strategy, business plans and proposals that grow revenue, margin, return on investment, brand reach and community impact.
- Lead genU's City to Surf event and identify opportunities to expand participation, partnerships, profitability and public profile.
- Bring teams and partners together—working with marketing, communications, media, agencies and stakeholders to build compelling campaigns, strong relationships and new event opportunities.
What you’ll bring
- A marketing or business degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience across marketing and events.
- Extensive experience leading commercial events programs and delivering measurable financial, brand and community outcomes.
- Strong business planning, budgeting, project management and analytical skills, with the judgement to take ideas confidently from concept to delivery.
- A natural ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior leaders, partners, media, agencies, suppliers and internal teams.
- Practical experience in brand, digital marketing, market research and event promotion, combined with a calm and solutions‑focused approach to risk, safety and compliance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate required (we’ll guide you through the process).
- Experience in, or a strong understanding of, the not‑for‑profit sector and its unique opportunities.
