About the role
As Events Manager, you will lead the delivery of engaging, high-quality community events that create meaningful experiences for Engineers Australia members, volunteers, Office Bearers and industry attendees. Working within the Professional Development team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to support the planning and execution of CPD, awards and event programs that strengthen member engagement and contribute to the engineering profession. This is an opportunity to bring your operational expertise, relationship-building skills and passion for exceptional event experiences to a purpose-driven organisation with national impact.
This is a hybrid role requiring attendance in the office three days per week and working from home two days per week. The position requires flexibility to accommodate occasional early starts, evening work, and domestic travel as needed to support business requirements.

In this role you will:
- Lead, support and develop team members through ongoing training, coaching and professional guidance.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across the Member and Customer team, wider EA teams, Office Bearers, volunteers and members.
- Partner with the Professional Development Programs team to maintain a current, relevant and engaging national CPD calendar.
- Oversee the planning, promotion and delivery of community events, ensuring excellent customer service and a high‑quality attendee experience.
- Implement and maintain best‑practice service delivery standards, policies, processes and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate event data and reporting, while supporting the effective use of technology platforms to enable best‑practice delivery.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience leading people and/or projects with accountability for high-quality service delivery.
- Strong capability managing multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence building trusted relationships and credibility with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring teams, enhancing capability and working effectively with volunteers.
- A practical understanding of business process improvement, change management, event delivery and event operations.
