Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled ETL Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, expertise in data integration, and a solid understanding of data warehousing principles. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using Talend, Informatica, Apache NiFi, or similar technologies.
- Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and develop technical specifications.
- Extract data from various sources, including databases, cloud services, APIs, and flat files.
- Transform data to meet business requirements, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Load data into data warehouses or data lakes, adhering to best practices for performance and scalability.
- Monitor ETL processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Write and maintain documentation for ETL processes, data models, and data flow diagrams.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimisation of ETL processes to improve efficiency.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility for analytics initiatives.
Criteria for Selection
- Supplier key personnel must have experience with Microsoft Azure data products, including:
- Azure SQL
- Data Factory
- Data Lake
- Data Bricks
- Analysis Services
- Supplier key personnel should have experience scripting with SSIS and SQL.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience with T‑SQL skills, including creating stored procedures, views, and indexes, as well as performance‑tuning queries.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience in analysing large volumes of data and establishing data flow models and mappings.
- It is desirable supplier key personnel have experience in implementing database structures, data marts, data stores and data lakes.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience in ensuring that data quality and security standards are met.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience in performance tuning and modelling the data to produce resource‑efficient and fast‑running processes.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience in unit testing to ensure data quality achieving this primarily with automation.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience using Azure DevOps release pipelines.
- Supplier key personnel should have experience relating to Salesforce integration solutions (e.g. API, middleware, 3rd party integration).
