CALB (Europe) S.A is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our team in Sines.

Responsibilities

• Work with design companies, construction companies, CALB and other related units to complete project documents and processes to meet the requirements of APA.
• Environmental monitoring and assessment: Conduct on-site sampling and analysis (such as air, water, and soil pollution), assess the environmental impact of projects (e.g. EIA, Environmental Impact Assessment). Use tools such as sensors or software (e.g. GIS for mapping) to track pollutant levels.
• Waste and Resource management: handle industrial waste classification, recycling and disposal, ensuring compliance with waste regulations. Include the safe handling of hazardous waste.
• Compliance and reporting: Assist enterprises in formulating environmental policies, prepare reports for submission to APA or EU institutions. Monitor emissions (such as CO2) and noise, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 environmental management system standards.
• Consulting and education: provide environmental guidance to companies or communities, conduct training (such as sustainable practices or emergency response), and participate in restoration projects (such as soil remediation or biodiversity conservation).

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience on a same related position
• Experience in industry
• Degree related to the field
• Proficiency in English
