Systems Engineer (Jama & Cartia)

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in requirements management and systems engineering to join their high-performing team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to support the delivery of complex projects through effective requirements management, traceability, verification and systems engineering activities. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will utilise Jama Connect and Cartia to manage engineering artefacts, support project governance, and ensure solutions meet stakeholder and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain requirements within Jama Connect and Cartia.
• Capture, analyse, document and validate stakeholder, system, and operational requirements.
• Establish and maintain end-to-end requirements traceability.
• Support systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle, including design, integration, verification, validation and acceptance.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, traceability matrices and verification reports.
• Coordinate and support technical reviews, audits and governance activities.
• Assist with configuration management and change control processes.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, customers and subject matter experts to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Support testing and verification activities to demonstrate compliance with project requirements.
• Provide regular reporting on requirements status, project risks, issues and engineering progress.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, requirements engineering, or project engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience using Jama Connect for requirements management, traceability, and verification activities.
• Experience using Cartia within an engineering, project, or asset management environment.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the engineering lifecycle.
• Experience developing requirements documentation, verification plans and traceability matrices.
• Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Defence, Government, Rail, Aerospace, or other highly regulated industry experience will be highly regarded.

Security Requirements

Applicants must hold a current Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (NV1 or NV2) will also be highly regarded.
