Our engineering teams — anchored by a world-class organizationin Australia — have built FSM software that is trusted by thousands ofbusinesses globally.

We are now investing in a new engineering hub in Medellín,Colombia, and are looking for a Director of Engineering to build and lead thisteam.

About the Role

We’relooking for a Engineering Manager that will be responsible for the management,development, delivery, and support of the Simpro suite of products. This isdone by managing and directing the associated software development teams todeliver the strategies and achieve the goals set by the Directors and ExecutiveTeam.

This is ahands-on leadership role focused on expanding the capabilities of the Simproplatform, with AI as a core lever to accelerate delivery and improve teamvelocity. You will hire and build the Medellín engineering team, and shape howthat team uses AI-native development practices to ship faster and morereliably. You'll work in close partnership with our existing engineeringorganization in Australia, which has built and scaled the core Simpro platform.Your team will extend their work — taking on new product capabilities,accelerating roadmap delivery, and operating as a high-velocity engineering podwithin the global org.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Build the org: Recruit, interview,and hire the engineers, tech leads, and future managers of the Medellínengineering team.
  • Accelerate delivery with AI:Champion AI-first, AI-native development practices and tooling to increasedevelopment speed, improve code quality, and lift team velocity.
  • Build an in-office culture: Foster astrong in-office working environment that drives collaboration, learning, andinnovation across the team.
  • Set the foundation: Establishengineering practices, tooling, coding standards, and delivery rhythms suitedto a distributed, multi-region product organization.
  • Partner across time zones: Build astrong working relationship with engineering leadership in Australia to alignon architecture, roadmap, and ways of working, ensuring Medellín integrates seamlesslyrather than operating as a silo.
  • Own delivery: Take accountabilityfor the Colombia team's contributions to the Simpro product roadmap, balancingspeed with the quality bar of an established platform.
  • Shape culture: Instill an AI-first,high-performance engineering culture as the team grows.
  • Represent Colombia in the globalorg: Act as the voice of the Medellín team in leadership discussions andplanning cycles across the Simpro engineering organization.
  • Scale responsibly: Design an orgstructure (squads, leads, career paths) that can grow the team over time whilesustaining high velocity.Join a global engineering environment whereinnovation, collaboration, and scalability drive impactful technology solutionswhile accelerating your professional growth within an international techcompany.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading softwareengineering teams, ideally including experience building or scaling a new team,office, or function.
  • Strong hands-on technical background(full-stack, cloud-native SaaS) with the credibility to hire and evaluatesenior engineering talent.
  • Experience building and maintainingcloud/SaaS solutions on AWS that scale reliably with high availability.
  • Experience working in adistributed/global engineering model, collaborating effectively across timezones and cultures — Australia/APAC experience is a plus. - A track record ofhiring: sourcing, interviewing, and building strong engineering teams. -Demonstrated experience with AI-first or AI-native development practices andtools, and a track record of using them to improve delivery speed and teamvelocity.
  • Experience building strong in-officeor in-person team cultures, and a belief in the value of in-personcollaboration for learning and innovation.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity andbuilding structure where none exists yet. - Fluent English required, bothwritten and spoken, given regular collaboration with global leadership and theAustralia engineering organization.
  • Strong executive presence: thecredibility, communication, and gravitas to represent the Medellín team infront of senior leadership and to influence decisions across the global engineeringorg.
  • Prior experience in FSM, verticalSaaS, or B2B software is a plus, but adaptability and leadership capabilitymatter more than domain-specific expertise.

This role requires being in the office 5 days a week. Given the mandateto build a strong founding culture, scale the team, and ramp up quickly,in-person presence is essential in this stage of the team's growth — it enablesfaster hiring and onboarding, tighter collaboration, and quicker knowledgetransfer as the team stands up.
