Engineering Manager

Job Title: Engineering Manager – Data Engineering & Advanced Analytics Location: Chennai Department: Data Engineering / Technology Reports To: Director of Data Engineering Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of data & Software engineers , building, testing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and advanced analytics solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation in big data technologies, data modeling, software engineering, along with proven leadership in delivering end-to-end data solutions that drive business impact. Key Responsibilities: · Take full ownership of the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data pipelines and systems. · Lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic programs, operational initiatives, and new product development. · Ensure solutions align with API-First and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. · Provide thought leadership and expert consultation to senior management on data strategy and innovation. · Oversee the creation of architecture diagrams, design documentation, and project planning artifacts. · Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across all engineering initiatives.

Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related quantitative field. · 12+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields. · Proven experience in building and managing large-scale data pipelines using tools like SQL, PySpark, Flink and Apache Spark. · Strong command of data modeling concepts, architecture design, and project planning. · Experience with AZURE and modern data stack tools. · Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. · Demonstrated leadership in multi-functional project teams and consulting environments. Preferred Qualifications: · Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field. · Experience in the transportation or logistics industry. · Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices. · Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
