About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SMP Engineer to join our growing team and support the successful delivery of structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) projects across the mining, resources and industrial sectors.

Working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and Clients, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) works across multiple projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, work packs and construction methodologies.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity and costs.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality requirements.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Manage subcontractors and liaise with clients and site personnel.
  • Support procurement activities and material tracking.
  • Conduct site inspections and maintain quality assurance documentation.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficient project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Previous experience in an SMP Engineering role within mining, manufacturing, renewables, infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel, mechanical installation and piping systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
